Vhils Artist of the Week

Alexandre Farto aka Vhils was born in Portugal in 1987. He was raised in Portugal, during a period that was deeply affected by the revolution. The Carnation Revolution of 1974 affected Lisbon and other parts of Portugal. As a youth he witnessed the destruction and results of violence on the walls of the city and recognized how that affected an environment.

Los Angeles Art Show Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary

The LA Art Show begins this week in Downtown Los Angeles (January 14th-18th). The iconic art fair is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. Founded in 1994, the show has grown from a small regional event to become the largest and longest running platform for fine art, bringing in more than 120 galleries representing 22 countries. Over the duration of its 20 years the LA Art Show has evolved along with the Los Angeles art scene. Smash137's New Color

To round out this week Freeway Editions wanted to speak about Smash137’s new solo exhibition entitled “New Color”. The show is on exhibit at Galerie Neuheisel in Germany until January 21st. The title “Neue Fabre” or “New Color” comes from a story of childhood nostalgia, Adrian Falkner AKA Smash137, recalls trying to mix colors and make “a new color” with his brother as a child.
