ART NEWS: A Round-Up of the Latest Art News

Freeway Editions had an incredibly busy first weekend in May. Show openings and art fairs galore! So today on the blog we are doing a bit of an art news round up, happenings, events, and art world news that caught our attention. 

Last week marked the 5th edition of San Francisco’s Art Market fair which seemed to bring together a diverse group of established as well as young galleries from all over California.

FEATURED ARTIST: Speedy Graphito

It's been awhile since we have talked about one of our Freeway Editions artists, this week we are bringing it back to talk about Frenchman, Speedy Graphito. The artist has been in Los Angeles for the past couple of months working arduously on new work for his upcoming solo exhibition at Fabien Castanier Gallery. The new paintings take on a specific new look, allowing the artist to get back to his roots as a classically trained painter.

ART NEWS: April Art Fairs

The first week in April was extra busy here at Freeway Editions so pardon the silence on the blog front. That being said, we hope you had a lovely holiday weekend and enjoyed some spring time weather! And speaking of seasons we are discussing art fairs today because well, art fairs are always happening, no matter the season! FEATURED ARTIST: THTF

Today Freeway Editions is focusing on the whimsy work of THTF, a street art duo from France.

These two young street artists met in 2008 while attending art school in France. After a few collaborative drawings and paintings, they decide to form the artistic duo now known as THTF in November of 2009. They began to create a signature style: simplistic large black & white characters the couple is known for today.
