Somewhere I'd Rather Bee

In conjunction with our Bumblebee Loves You interview we would like to also highlight his work on FreeWay Editions. Bumblebee first found his artistic voice on the walls of abandoned buildings in the Los Angeles suburb of Downey. His art often speaks to a specific public with subjects of innocence, coming of age, and transition. These themes are combined with a color palette of yellow and black to create an iconic and evocative style.
The work of Bumblebee has merged the ideas of stenciled street art, mural making, and appropriation to create an unique visual dialogue between the art of urban Los Angeles and the art found in the city’s gallery spaces. Take a look at this series of limited edition hand-painted stencil prints.
This is a special hand-cut set, with one of BumbleBeeLovesYou’s signature images.

Stenciled spray paint on 640gsm cotton handmade paper + UV protective finish. This process allows the artist to handle each edition one by one, which makes every piece in a set very unique and authentic. Each edition is signed and numbered by the artist.
