Goodbye Summer! And of course saying goodbye to warm weather and vacation means we are starting to welcome in the Art Fairs and Festivals that come with the Fall season. Freeway Editions will be doing a breakdown of what's coming up in the Art Fair world and how these events celebrate urban contemporary art.

ART NEWS: "The Art of Toys" at MOAH

This past weekend marked the opening of the Museum of Art and History's exhibition "The Art of Toys". This exhibition celebrates the last twenty years of modern toy making and the artists that have centralized the movement. In the 1990s toy making became another outlet for alternative artists and from there the genre grew into an entirely new art form. This exhibition takes a look at this artistic evolution and celebrates the artists, companies, and people that made it happen.

FEATURED ARTIST: Nychos the Weird

 

We noticed a new mural underway in the neighborhood a few weeks ago and today we are talking about it! Nychos, the mastermind behind the piece entitled "Anatomy of a Canis Lupus", is an Austrian urban artist known for large scale decaying or dissected animals. The mural is located in the Culver City Arts District on La Cienega Blvd. on the side of Graphaids Art Supply.
