This week FreeWay Editions is sharing new hand-painted screen prints from contemporary urban painter Charlie Anderson.  Anderson is originally from Edinburgh Scotland and after graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2009 he has developed a thriving career around his distinctive style of collage inspired pop art paintings. He employs imagery from magazines, flyers, advertising and political campaigns to create collage styled paintings that make commentary on our throw away society. Rimi Yang is a Korean artist who was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. Yang moved to L.A. in the early 90’s to attend school and study art and since has been living and working in Los Angeles fostering her artistic voice.

Frank Shepard Fairey is an American contemporary street artist, graphic designer activist and illustrator who emerged from the skateboarding scene. He first became known for his "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" (…OBEY…) sticker campaign, in which he appropriated images from the comedic supermarket tabloid Weekly World News. We all know Shepard Fairey primarily for his 2008 U.S. presidential election Barack Obama "Hope" poster. FreeWay Editions is always introducing new artworks to the online store but this week we are featuring a whole new category of hand-painted screen prints. These works are one of kind unique hand-painted screen prints from urban contemporary artist Speedy Graphito. Each of these pieces was individually painted by the artist after silkscreen colors were applied to the Coventry Rag Vellum 320g paper.
